An Té A Bhíonn Siúlach, Bíonn Scéalach | Irish Seanfhocail Print | Gaeilge Gift

An té a bhíonn siúlach, bíonn scéalach - Those who travel have stories to tell.

We all have that one friend. They've just back from somewhere, the tan is still fresh, and you know the next two hours are going to be "so there was this tiny bar in Lisbon..."

This one's for them.

It's one of the best-loved old Irish proverbs, and word for word it means "the person who is walking is storytelling." In other words, get out there, see the world, and you'll come home with plenty to say. It suits an island full of emigrants and adventurers.

Perfect for:

• Going-away gifts for anyone heading off to Australia, Canada or beyond
• Travel lovers, backpackers and the friend who's always planning the next trip
• Retirement gifts for someone finally ready to see the world
• Irish family abroad, to remind them where the stories started
